For Volume 5 of our Creator’s Club Series, we’re proud to feature Musonga Mbogo — an artist whose work speaks with both purpose and depth. Musonga is a storyteller at heart, using visual art to explore identity, resilience, and the journey toward personal evolution. His practice is rooted in community and self-exploration, and his work often asks more questions than it answers — inviting reflection, connection, and conversation. Zanerobe’s Creator’s Club is an initiative born from the idea that creativity doesn’t exist in a vacuum. From clay-splattered studios to late-night sketchbooks, the artists we feature are hands-on, honest, and endlessly curious. They’re builders — of objects, ideas, and meaning — and each one brings something unique to the collective. Musonga fits right in. His background, his approach, and his relentless drive to keep evolving make him a natural choice for this series. Musonga’s featured piece for this volume is titled: “The sun will shine again.”An artwork created by Musonga Mbogo centred around stepping towards a brighter future. As the main character in your own story, it represents a commitment to your highest self. Inspired by the artwork Soul and Substance from Mbogo’s previous collection at Hake House of Art. What we love about this piece — beyond its striking composition — is the message behind it. There’s a sense of movement and optimism that threads through the work. It acknowledges darkness but doesn’t dwell there. Instead, it points to progress, self-belief, and the idea that you get to write your own story. Stay tuned as we continue shining a light on local talent through the Creator’s Club. Each volume offers a fresh perspective, and we’re just getting started.
