CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS WHO SEE NO BOUNDARIES.

Name - Lee Yik Keat

City - Singapore

Current Employment - Freelance photographer/filmmaker + Military

What do you shoot with - Canon 1DX Mark II

What inspires your photography style?

I'm actually still trying to find my style, however I'm really drawn into creating visuals that leave people thinking and attracting them to the actual scene in the image. I love to roam around the city, with my favourite music playlists and just let everything flow. You could say I'm inspired by the environment around me, how the city operates, how each and every character on the streets has it's own story. And of course watching so many artists out there putting their everything, the drive really keeps me going as well.

What are some of the defining moments in your career so far?

There are so many moments within these short amount of time that I'm so blessed to be able to share with my friends and family with. The one that stood out to me was a few months ago where I shot for Ultra Music Festival in Singapore. Being a huge EDM (Electronic Dance Music) lover, I was able to photograph and even interact with some of my favorite artists backstage, it was a huge personal dream for me!

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Most of you think I might want to collaborate with an artist of the same craft, however I would really love to collaborate with Martin Garrix, not in terms of music of course, but I would love to document what he and the whole crew behind him had done throughout these few years, I've been listening to his music since way back and to be able to interact and shoot for him is definitely going to be a dream come true for me.

What other artists are you currently following?

Please go check them out if you haven't already, they are phenomenal: (@Alexstrohl, @nk7, @lielaine, @edwardkb, @vdubl, @joeyldotcom) and so much more that inspire me every single day.

What is your favorite location in your hometown to shoot?

Definitely the small pontoon in Marina where you can view the entire skyline, probably the best seat in the house. Gets me every time!

Who's the coolest person you've shot with?

An old guy that I met in Japan in his late 60's, rocking a Canon 5D Mark III with his fragile hands.

Any new collaborations?

Yes! Just stay tuned to my Instagram and website for updates :)

In addition to taking epic photos what else keeps you busy?

It's a constant struggle now to find free time as I'm serving the nation in military, so pretty much when I'm in camp, I handle phone calls, emails and anything digital. When I'm out of camp it's the execution part (mostly shooting).

What's a current staple in your wardrobe?

It's hot all year round here in Singapore so a t-shirt with valuable words or visuals on it.
